NKT releases Sustainability Report 2019

The Sustainability Report for NKT has been released as part of the Annual Report 26 February 2020. The report highlights the initiatives and result of the company’s efforts to drive sustainability in the power cable industry. As signatory of the UN Global Compact the report is also the official Communication on Progress of NKT.

The development of the global power grids is crucial to ensure the transition to renewable energy and as a leading provider of power cable solutions, NKT continuously work to develop the sustainability of the company’s portfolio and operations.
- As a key provider of the power cables needed for the development of the global power grids, it is natural for us to drive our business sustainable and responsible. In 2019, we have taken steps to run both our high-voltage factories on green electricity and our ambition is to run all our manufacturing sites on electricity originating from renewable energy sources at the end of 2020, says Alexander Kara.
NKT is focused doing business in accordance with the relevant UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that express the most important global challenges. With the commitment to UN Global Compact the company NKT commits to strengthen the focus on responsible and ethical operations.
